The Chatham County Sheriff's Office is making it easier to add money to an inmate's account. Just visit
www.JailATM.com.
The inmate can use this money to purchase personal items and snack foods from the jail's commissary.
There is a $2.50 fee for each of these transactions. Friends and family members may use a credit card, debit card, or bank account to transfer the money.

In addition to the new on-line service, the CCSO is also streaming the financial process at the jail. New booking and deposit kiosks eliminates officers from handling money and is saving taxpayers money.
Booking Kiosk
Once an inmate is booked into the Chatham County Detention Center, they deposit any cash they have into the booking kiosk. The kiosk will automatically post the money to an inmate's account.
The booking kiosk completely eliminates the need for officers to handle money.
Deposit Kiosk
Deposits on inmates accounts are only accepted through the deposit kiosks. There are deposit kiosks located in the Video Visitation Center and the main lobby of the Chatham County Sheriff's
Office. An inmate's family or friends may place cash or credit card deposits directly on the inmate's account. This will eliminate the need for officers to collect money and manually post money
to an inmate's account, thus saving countless labor hours. The kiosks are accessible to the public 24 hours a day. Any after-hours and weekend deposits can be made at the jail ATM machines in
the Video Visitation building or online at
www.JailATM.com.
On-line services
Family members and friends can also now add money to an inmate's account from the comfort of home. Just log on to
www.JailATM.com, set up an account and you can start depositing money immediately.
Telephone Ordering
Telephone ordering allows inmates to pick up the phone in their housing unit at any time, at non charge, to what their account balance is. They can order snack food or personal items from the
commissary at any. A voice prompt will assist the inmate in completing their orders in English or Spanish. This system will allow the CCSO to become paperless by eliminating scanner sheets,
menus and other commissary forms. Not only will this help the CCSO be more environmentally friendly, but it will make the facility a leader in the state for technology and green corrections
practices.
Debit Card Release
The remaining balance on an inmate's account will now be loaded onto a debit card. Once an inmate is released from jail the inmate can immediately use the card at any location that accepts
credit cards. This debit card is a valuable financial tool to help the inmate transition back into society.
Deposit Maximum
Maximum daily deposit per visitor per inmate is $300.00. Exceptions are: Bonds, fines, child support payments, or the work release program (all must have supporting documents). Mailed money
orders will be limited to $300.00 unless documentation for the fine, child support, or bond is included.

Attorney Visitation Access
Privileged User Information
The Chatham County GA Sheriff’s Office now uses JailATM.com to allow inmates to communicate via visit through web-based video with professionals providing services to inmates. Inmates are normally charged a set fee per minute for video visits and all communication is reviewed and recorded by the Facility. However, communication with Privileged Users (attorneys) will be encrypted and video visits will not be recorded or monitored to maintain the privacy of these communications
In order for you to become registered in the system as a Privileged User and have visits not recorded, the following steps must be followed:
- You must go to www.JailATM.com and create an account by following the online instructions.
- Once you have established your account, you must request to be approved as a Privileged User for "Chatham Attorney, GA". See below the following:
- From the Main Account screen, select "Settings" – "Advanced" and "Privileged User Request".
- From the Facility dropdown, select "Chatham Attorney, GA"
- If the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office has Privileged User Groups established, a second dropdown will appear that shows the various Privileged User groups available at the facility. Select the Group that you are a member of (Public Defender, Private Attorney, etc.).
- In the "Professional ID" field, enter the ID Number assigned for your Profession (State Bar Number, Badge Number, etc.). This will be used by the Sheriff’s Office to assist in verifying your Privileged User status.
- Click on the "Request" button.
- Each request will appear in the "Past Requests" grid at the top of the page with "Pending" in the Approved column.
- Chatham County Sheriff’s Office must then approve your status as a Privileged User for the Facility.
- You can check back in your JailATM.com account to confirm the Sheriff’s Office approval / denial of your Privileged User status.
**You're reminded that video visits are reviewed by Staff at the facility. If you use the video visiting system to communicate with an inmate before you are approved as a Privileged User, your visits may be recorded and/or monitored.**
